already inactive

The error message may indicate an attempt at forgery if the current scan was a deactivation. In that case, a message is automatically forwarded to the relevant authorities (not in the case of verification).

Description and cause:

The pack is already in a deactivated state (e.g. deactivated, exported, medical sample, locked or destroyed) and an attempt is still being made to deactivate it. Possible reasons:

  • The pack has been deactivated repeatedly by mistake.
  • The pack has already been deactivated elsewhere (often in the case of returns).
  • The pack is a counterfeit.

Handling instructions:

The pack must be separated and must not be brought to market until the cause of the alert has been determined.

Procedures for the scanning staff:

  1. Have you already deactivated the pack yourself? If so, the pack can still be used.
  2. If the pack was delivered in a deactivated state, please report this.
  3. Not sure whether you deactivated the package yourself? If so, please test the reactivation:
  • If the reactivation is successful, you deactivated the package yourself. The matter is resolved.

  • If the reactivation fails, follow the instructions in this error message.
  1. Are any other packages in the delivery or storage compartment also affected?

Procedures for the responsible person:

  • Falls die Packung deaktiviert angeliefert wurde, kann nur der Lieferant die Ware sie innerhalb von 10 Tagen wieder reaktiveren. Eile ist geboten.

Further use of the pack

PLEASE NOTE! A deactivated pack may no longer be suitable for distribution. Every subsequent point in the pharmaceutical supply chain will receive the same error message and refuse your delivery. If you have deactivated the pack yourself, it can be used at any time whilst in this status.

Special case: returns. If the pack is returned, the person responsible may apply simplified quarantine rules, for example, authorising the pack for immediate destruction.
